As I sat on a deck that I knew I was lucky to be on, I waited with anticipation, having time to appreciate what I actually chose to do. I chose to put aside my type a nerves and the need for a good night’s rest. I chose instead to live in the moment, and I chose to begin to believe in the magic that life brings us once again.

Yup, here I am, a self-proclaiming proud, OxyMERon. And it was only when I was able to accept the non-harmonious parts of me that I was able to remove the sense of guilt I was feeling. You see, I stopped trying to be what I deemed was the better, more attractive of the two traits, and chose instead to simply be.

And as small sprouts of broccoli heads colored the granite fresh green, I looked down at the pure mess of it all. And a profound sentence came to me, stilling everything, “In chaos, there is creation.”

We’ve all heard the classic story; Boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl in the end. But it’s 2018 people and we all know love stories aren’t that simple. Doesn’t the lady get any say in her inevitable fate? And what about the unavoidable in between? The assessing, sometime obsessing, and of course, countless hours figuring out dressing?

Sorry if I’ve ignored your texts. Or if I’ve been a monster. Perhaps you noticed I am over reacting to the smallest details (why is there never slow churned cookies and cream at CVS anymore!?!). It’s not you and it’s not me (well partially it is), but really, it’s the Manhattan housing market.

Change. It’s that constant that throws me off balance even when I know it is coming.

I love you. 3 words that have immense meaning and can take a while at times to say.  I was recently reading a self-help book (2018 the year of improvements) which asked me to do a daily challenge, take a second and look in the mirror. “Say I love you to yourself.”

And happy holidays from frigid New York. It’s been quite some time since I’ve “na mer ste’d” in more ways than one. My apologies for the break. I would like to share all of my updates, but as my mother says, you shouldn’t put everything up online. Wise words!

And welcome back (mostly to me) and to the world of writing from which I took a short break. These past few weeks have been quite busy as I was jet setting off to the foreign land of Greece. Taking a quick minute to be able to travel with the family was amazing and the break was well needed. Coming back and getting back into a routine, well that hasn’t exactly happened quite yet. In fact I would say I am a little off my balance game.

Control; it’s a kind of push and pull force. Fleeting in nature, it allows us to momentarily command attention and feel a rush of power. However, once lost, it causes us to stumble, falling headfirst into reality.
